Just wondering if anyone nows if there are any sales going on up at BPS?

They are having their big spring fishing classic coming in the next couple of weeks. I think it starts on the 29th and goes for like 3 weekends row. I think the reel trade in is 1st or 2nd weekend in March. Thats usually when i go and load up every year. They have their best deals of the year during this sale. Make sure you get there early cause the good stuff gets gone quick! It gets worse than wally world in there.

Thanks Momma ,have been on there,just wondering if there were any in store deals.Sometimes they have some in store deals.
How does their Reel Trade work exactly? Do you have to have a pretty descent reel before it would be worth taking any?

im hoping they put there BP David Fritts reel on sale again if so im gonna get another one that reel is awesome for Crankbaits. His rod is really good to.

Any reel will do! Last year, i seen some guys turn in reels that didnt even work! When you turn in your reel, they will give you a discount certificate to use when you buy a new reel. The amount of the discount depends on the price of the reel you buy. You can get some great deals this way because most of the reels they have are on sale at this time anyways. Last year i bought one of their Extreme baitcast reels. They retail for around $80. I got to use my trade in discount plus the sale price so i ended up getting the Extreme reel for $45 i think. Cant beat that! If you are wanting one of those high dollar $200 or $300 reels the discount would be even more. I've heard of people going to walmart and buying a $10 el cheapo reel to take to BPS and trade in to get the discount.

So it doesn't matter how new or old the reels your trading are or anything? Does the reel you trade in effect how much discount you get, or just what new reel your buying? And can you do this for multiple reels? Like bring in three old reels, and get the discount on 3 new reels?
That extreme reel is a good reel I have 6 of them they have 7 bearings and have a good drag system mine are 7 to 1 high speed and they are on 7 foot Bionic Blade rods for no more then they cost it is a good deal mine are 2 years old and I would buy them again.
Interesting BPS facts: Pflueger makes all BPS reels.................Good reels. I have three myself.

The reels are supposed to be in good "working" condition. They donate these reels to children I think, I'll post back when I find the link.
The discount varies based on the price of the new reel. From $5 and up. The higher the new reel, the better the discount.
I'll go look for that link.

Thanks, I've got a few that I should be able to take in. Can you just get this discount on one reel each visit, or can you do, say....3 used reels for 3 new reels?
MT you can choose your BPS store on the website and you can then look at all the sales papers for that particular store.
I'm not real sure, but i think you can only do one reel.
I know the guy that used to run Outdoor Sports on Merchants Dr. in Knoxville and he told me that the $400 GLoomis rods only cost them about $15 to make. Now that's a mark up! As for the David Fritts reel, I'm on my second one now after destroying my last one after 6 fishing trips! The little "guide" that runs in the track of the worm shaft for the line guide got chewed up somehow and the reel kept hanging up. I'm going to take some older BPS reels in for the trade-in during March as well.

You can do that. One coupon per one new reel. Doesn't say any limits other than that. I did catch that Shimano is excluded as it doesn't participate in the reel to youth donation program.
