I finally got to Norris for a few days. Not a bad trip for the end of February.
On Sunday the 24th I finally made it to the lake house at about 6 pm. I decided to fish the last few minutes of daylight near Sugar Hollow. Got on the water at about 6:20. I caught two largemouth in the 20 minutes that I did get to fish. One was 17" and the other was 19 1/2 ". Both came off of a rock pile in about 15 ft of water.
On Monday, I fished from about 1 pm until dark. I caught 7 fish total 2 smallmouth, 4 largemouth and a spot. Several largemouth were in the 15-16 inch range. All fish were caught on rocky banks that dropped into 20 to 40 feet of water.
On Tuesday I didn't get to fish due to having to run some errands and also went to BPS and bought some lures for some upcoming tourneys next month in WV and Ky.
Yesterday I braved the wind and the cold to fish for about 5 hours. Only caught 4 fish with the largest being 17". All fish were largemouth. and all fish were on rock piles in about 20 ft of water.
Water temps varied from 45 to 48 degrees.
All fish were caught on t-rigged tubes with a 1/4 oz weight. I also tried the FnF, jerkbaits and cranks with no bites.
I will be back down the week following Easter. Hopefully I will have this trip timed just right.
