I have always fished Vanish line, but late last year I started spooling Sufix. I really liked it alot do to the zero memory. I just fished it a trip or two. Has anyone else fished it..had any problems. Is it very abrasive resistant.

Thanks...catfan

What lb test are you using? I tried some 8lb elite on my spinning combo and its descent I guess, but i'm not crazy about it. I haven't had the chance to use alot of different lines, but I liked P-Line CX 8lb better than the elite.

I'm using some 6lb suffix elite, and it seems to be very strong. I'm pleased with it.

I have 8lb. spooled right now on my spinning rod. The reason I wanted to try something besides Vanish was I started breaking off a lot of fish right after hookset. Kinda like I was getting cuts or abrasions in my line. I agree Stumpy, I can cast it a mile. I haven't tried the P-line,but I fish with friends that use it and they love it.

I have been using sufix for about three years now and love it. I uwe it for every thing. I use 4lb for bobber and tightlining and am yet to break a fish off. It is some of the strongest line i have ever used and i would reccomend it for anything. I use it on all my casting outfits to.

Don't you guys have problems with it's memory? It seemed to me like it held the memory of the spool horrible....looked like a slinky when I would cast.

The memory is worse than trilene xl, but it does not seem to kink. Yes it does look slinky but I have not had a problem with it twisting.

Well, I guess I will add my dollars worth to this one. I have been using Sufix Promix ever since they bought it out. I was introduced to it by a Rep for the company 9 years ago. He handed me a 300 yard spool of 12 pound clear blue florescent so I spooled up one Rod with it. My Fluke rod. Medium Heavy mod fast tip. Fished a tournament that evening and was fishing a bank of standing river weeds where I had been taking some nice fish earlier in the week. I sent the fluke to the weed line and it got flushed by a nice 3 pounder almost when it hit the water. Had no trouble boating it and put in live well. Moved a litttle farther and another 3 lber took the fluke and now had 2 in live well. Within 1/2 hour I had 5 nice 3 pound fish in live well. Came to a large patch of the river weeds and saw a swirl in an opening in the weeds and without thinking I shot that fluke into the hole in the weeds. When the Fluke landed, it was flushed imediately and I set the hook and everything came to a stop for about 3 seconds. Then I felt that big pull and I knew this was no 3 pound fish. I was going to try and ease the boat closer to the weed line when all at once the fish made the bid to exit the weeds and fight me in the open water. She came through those weeds wide open as I held tension on her. I was watching my line cut the purple flowers off the tops of the weeds like a weed eater. I knew when this fish hit open water and would get a good pull this 12 pound line was going to give up the ghost. When this 5.75 pound bass made three beautiful jumps that line showed her no mercy. I boated her and culled one fish. After getting all of that done I sat down and peeled off about 30 feet of line and reeled it back onto the reel slowly checking for frays and nicks. There was not one rough spot anywhere on the line. I won the tournament that evening and had big fish. Right now I have a refrigerator out in my carport and in it is twelve 4000 yard bulk spools of DNA Promix Line. I have 6 spools of the Lemon Green in 1=8lb, 1=10 lb, 1=12 lb, 1=14lb, 1=17lb, 1=20lb and I have the same in the Clear Blue Florescent. I don't and won't use any other line and I have yet to have a fish break me off due to line defects. Now if you ask me what line I use I will tell you Sufix Promix. I order all my line from GUNFISH when I need it. I have about 10 anglers up here that also converted over and if they run out they will stop over here and spool their reels off my spools till their new line gets here from GUNFISH. They will not go buy any other lines unless they can find a dealer or store that sells Promix. Now I have tried the Sufix Seige and I have tried the Sufix Elite and even though they seemed to be a good line they are just not Promix. I do use the Sufix Braid and am well satisfied with it also. Now that is my dollars worth..........

I have the 8# elite spooled on my spinning rod for Bandits now without a problem. I have used the 6# elite for FnF without any problems. I use the 12# Seige on my baitcasters for most everything else without many issues. The line is very strong. I will use 12# CXX Pline and 10# as well. The Suffix does not seem to have as bad a memory. I have loaded the 12# on a 35 series Pfueger spinning reel for jigs and was not disappointed. I hope this helps. I also like the price of this quality line. The other line I like is the Pline Flurocarbon that I have on my jighead rod right now. The true flurocarbon is very strong in the 10# rating.

I WOULD NOT WASTE THE MONEY ON SUFFIX LINE . ITRIED SEVERAL DIFFERENT LB TEST OF IT EVERY ONE OF THEM

I HAD BRAKE AND IF YOU ARE TX FISHING THIS IS A BAD THING . I EVEN CONTACTED THEM AND RECEIVED A FREE SPOOL AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED .SO THEN I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS ME SO I WENT BACK TO PLINE AND DID NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM . I KNOW I SET THE HOOK HARDER OR AS HARD AS ANY BODY YOU WILL MEET BUT WHEN I DO I DONT WANT THE LINE TO SNAP THAT IS FOR SURE . SO ALL I USE NOW IS PLINE OR POWER PRO BRAID OR THE STREN MICROFUSION BRAID FOR NIGHT FISHING .

I have had that problem with trilene but never with Suffix. I use the one in the blue box don't remember if it is elite or seige. but I think it is the best of the 2. I use it on everything from cranks on spinning reels to jigs to worms, and love it for dd22's. it is one of the best lines I have used for spinning reels. but everyone likes different types of line thats why they make so many kinds and brands.I use the 83 on spinning reels and 10 on baitcast reels and 12 on my jig rods.
