on most lakes I fish it seems 3 or 4 night before the full moon to a couple days after is best....for night fishing

but for day fishing I like to fish around the new moon within a couple days before or after.

but they are a couple lakes I fish that I do better on the new moon at night than I do on the full moon. (Flannagan) is one of this lakes.

On the moon charts that shows actual time periods, usually a 2 or 3 hour stretch, it seems like I've had better luck during that time. I remember one morning this past year in late spring or early summer (before it got so doggone hot!), I hadn't done worth a hoot and was about to call it a day, when I caught a nice 3 lb. LM and less than 10 minutes later another keeper, both on shaky heads. When I got home I looked at the moon chart on www.Lake-Link.com and sure enough, I had caught those fish about the time it said was gonna be "prime time." Do I plan my fishing strictly around those times? No. But, I think there may be something to it. It's just way past what my simple mind can understand. Wood
