Well just heard the guys from Harlan where back at it again on Norris. They where fishing up near 33 bridge somewhere and caught 6 Smallies over 22 inches.
Now there is 6 more good fish heading for frying pan. I just don't understand why they have to eat smallies. :scratch:But what can you do about it.

I very seldom ever put fish in the well and all I put in is walleye , sauger , and panfish . I know that what they are doing is legal but is it moral ? How many fish over the next 5 years were removed because of the 6 taken out today , we will never know . I look at it this way , I may want to come back later and catch some fish so I need to put some in today .

light, throw, scoop. It's hard to belive that you can go a catch bass like that on a rod and reel

and so many they should be fishing with the pros they could get rich. sick

We have meat hunters like that in my neck of the woods also and let me tell you, they are far from being pros. Here you can see these guys a mile away, large cooler in the center of the boat with at least 2 5 gallon buckets filled with bait, they sit on a likely fish holding spot and chuck big shiners or stone cats on rods that are thick enough for surf casting and big old spinning reels to match. They hate to see me coming, I get real close to make conversation then I start banging around in the boat and making "bad" cast with large lures and after untangling lines 2 or 3 times they usually move.

Don't want to make nobody mad or start nothing but like Snoot said we have to put up with it. A size limit and creel limit is put on the fish in a body of water because a body of water can just hold so many different types of fish and if it gets more then it can handel then the fish will start to compete for food and once the bigger fish eat the smaller ones and then they are all the same size then they will just die off. That is why that different types of fish are stocked some fish stay close to the bank and some stay in deeper water same way with the shad. And if everybody threw back every fish they caught then the lake would get overstocked and then die off. Not trying to make excusse for them but we have to understand the whole life cycle of the fish in a lake. I don't agree with what they are doing.

Is that the only fish those guys eat is Smallmouths? If not and they eat Larrgemouths too they just need to begin going to weigh ins and getting the dead fish that people weigh in. Thats what folks do down this way. All of the dead fish that come in down here are not wasted but given away to people that eat Bass. Now has anyone ever seen these particular folks catch the fish on rods. There are other methods of getting fish besides rods and reels. They have caught several folks down this way with shock units made into their boats and they will find fish and lower these small units into the water that will send an electric shock over a small area and float the fish long enough to net them. Caught a few guys using them in tournaments and it got ugly quick. Sure was glad the director had the cops there waiting for them to come in. May have been a killing that night had the cops not been there.
