Wanting to try to find some crappie on MH soon. Here's a couple questions:



1. Where can I buy some live crappie minnows on the way to the lake? I know Gander Mountain has a live bait section; do they sell crappie minnows too?



2. Anybody know of any good crappie holes on MH? I know MH is not known as a crappie lake but I have seen some slabs come out of there. I just don't know where to find them.

There is a bait shop on top side rd off pellissippi pkwy. Louisville Marine & Bait Co the number is (865) 977-0061. I don't know which way you are coming from,but this is the place I go to. PM Sent

Well the bait shop on edgemore road would have been the place to go but he is shutting down.. You might catch him still open though....As for crappie holes.....well Idk if i could divulge that info for my mom and dad would kill me cause the can really get on em.

Cost of a crappie trip. Crappies... depends on how much we spent on the Tritons and minnows. Hush Puppies...$1.50. A few buddies getting together in March to fish...Priceless!

looks like this post is a little late,but it may help someone later, the little store on the right between I-40 & the dam use to have minnows, if I get the chance I'll stop by & see if they still do if so I will post it.

I buy minnows at the bait shop on edgemore drive about 1-1/2 miles east of Bull Run Dam and I put in at the public ramp at bull run creek.

Hey Gunny it took me awhile but finaly got to the store between I-40 & the dam, they do have minnows & open @ 6:00 am mon -fri / 7:30 sat & 9:00 on sunday hope this helps in future trips.
