I was wondering if anybody here has ever fished Lake Bowen in Spartenburg, S.C.? I've asked around and nobody seems to know anything about it. Its the small lake that you cross over if you are traveling on I-26 not long after you cross the SC state line. I've been thinking about fishing this little lake for a long time. It looks really good. It has horsepower restrictions and you have to have a boating permit to fish from a boat, but i'm not sure what the permit costs. What type of patterns and lures are best on this lake?

I lived on it until 1993. Spartanburg water works lake approximately 2000 acres I think. Wardens phone number is

864-592-2240. Horesepower 115 for outboard, much larger for inboard ski boats. Advise to fish before warm weather skiing starts.

Thanks for the info!! Any tips on what to throw, where to fish??

There are plenty of brush piles, floating docks to throw around. This time of year I use a spiinerbait, pignjig and CB slow it down.

If lake is full upper end is shallow with stumps & lilly pads also. Ask lake wardens Eddie or Jimmy what fish are doing.

Good luck.
