I just bought a lms520c and im having problems understanding the mapping. how do you get the area lakes on this unit? If you got one of these units id love to chat.

I have one. Same thing but mine is a 522 with internal antenna. I am not real sure what your question is though. If you mean seeing lake contours and depths, you will have to buy a map card.

I've got an eagle unit (gps) and I have to manually select the Navionics card or it only shows the preloaded maps which aren't much. You may have to do this if you are using the Navionics, I believe and someone correct me if i'm wrong the Lowrance cards should automatically come up without having to manually select them. Just a thought if that is your problem.

Yes they are automatic in Lowrance units.

IF YOU DON`T HAVE A LAKES CARD ...YOU CAN GET A FREE DOWNLOAD OF "ENHANCED LAKE MAPS " OFF OF LOWRANCE WEBSITE.....LOUDON AND PERCY PREIST ARE THE ONLY ONES IN TN THOUGH. ...SAME MAP AS IS ON THE "PRO ELITE CARD"..
