Took off after lunch called a bud and took the jon boat out for the maiden voyage on the clinch. I thought I'd put in at the 61 bridge, I haven't been to Peach Orchard yet so I didn't travel the extra distance to check it out. I spent most of my time trolling up river and around partially submerged shoals until the river flow and my trolling motor thrust hit even at the church. It was getting really shallow again and I don't think I could have gotten much farther on TM power anyway. It was sunny and mid 50s. I spent about 10 minutes fishing with no bites but had a blast being on the water in new territory.

Can you get very far from the Peach Orchard ramp with the water off? I think they only ran the generators for an hour that morning.

As for the float trip, I'm not too big on making plans that far in advance but I'll keep it as a possibility on the agenda and let you know if I plan on going a day or so ahead of time.

Depends on what kind of boat Pikey. It can be done in a 14 ft flat bottom, but you will have to drag some. Upstream you can go to Massengill Bridge. Only one spot that gets skinny.
