I usually start seeing them around mid Feb. So far the only one I have seen was KIA on the side of the road last week.

I finally saw our pet whistle-pig here at work late yesterday evening. I'm gonna try to go hunting some time next week when I'm off of work, if me and Snoot dont make it to Douglas. I got my new gun sighted in and ready to go with 55gr V-Max's and I'm getting the itch.

What is your gun of choice for hog'n Spinnerbait? I enjoy shooting a Ruger mini 30 when I get a chance to go. Many folks have many gun preferences for ground hogs, dad likes to make a little more noise with a winchester 300 mag which he has reloaded for over 36 years, and disputes that for the longest of shots that is the way to go. He has a 998 yard kill to date on a trip in the 80's that we NEVER stop hearing about...

I use a Savage 22-250, or will anyway when I get to go, it's still new. There aint much need for long range shooting here unless you go to a huge abandoned strip job. I figure for under 500yds the 22-250 will work fine, if I start needing more power for longer distances I'll start taking my 270wsm loaded with 90gr nosler partitions or I'm hoping to get a tactical 308 sometime this summer. I reload too, or am learning anyway, Snoot has been doing it for as long as I remember and he is in the process of teaching me.
