Hey Jon what do you think of the Can-am. I've heard a lot about them but have never had any experience with them. When I got my first ATV last year it was a decision between Can-am and Polaris. I picked Polaris because I know a lot of people who have them and are satisfied.

I LOVE MINE!!! No Complaints whatsoever. If I ever get another one, it will be a Can-Am! I wouldn't buy anything else. Just my personal preference though. Look in my photogallery. There's pictures of mine in there. I bought mine with the XT Package. It had a 2.5 warn winch and the upgraded front and rear brushguards. I really like the feature of the inboard disc brakes and the trailing arm indipendent suspension.

I got my first one last year, went with a Honda 500. Flipped it 3 times so far trying to do stuff I wasnt experienced enough to do...still going strong. Tough bikes, thats why I got it. Polaris are great too, theyve made some MAJOR improvements in the last 2-3 years and are one of the best bikes out there from what everyone says. And I have a few buddies with the new Side X Side...The RZR...you talk about a MEAN MACHINE. that will be my next purchase...but thats a ways off.

I always loved Honda Dirtbikes. I've had 2. had an XR 100 when I was a kid and then had a CR 250 after I sold the XR. Honda is a great Company! I actually have a 99 Civic too....

Those Side by Sides look pretty cool!!! Little Mini Jeeps!

Looks good. I like the camo. I wanted to get mine in camo but they didnt have it at the delership so I got a black and silver one. I put a 2.5 Warn and brushgaurd on the front. I want to get one on the rear too. If I had been smart I would have got a smaller one (500) and got all the options with it includeing the front end motor brake. Mine came with the rear motor brake and its ok but going down steep hills it want to lock up and loose control so I still have to ride the brakes. I was told to thumb the throttle but where its EFI the more I thumb it the faster it goes. Other than that I'm glad I went with the 800.

when i put mine in 4 low, you honestly have to give it gas to go down a steep hill unless you want to snail crawl going down. mine has the visco-lock. if one wheel is spinnin, it will automatically engauge to the wheel with traction. I guess basically like traction control.

I know that is nice. I think thats what Polaris has, Im not sure. I had a friend come up with a 500 Polaris and go down a huge hill. He just flicked it in 4 wd and crawled down it. I followed him a few minutes later and came down sideways. Very hairy. I havnt been back down that hill since and its a shame because there is some great riding down there. Another complaint I have with mine is it is a gas guzzler

Mine is just a 400. Plenty of power for what I need. It did pull my full size chevy and boat when the motor blew up in the truck on the way to the lake. I had to use the wheeler to pull both truck and boat back to the garage.
Mine doesnt do bad at all on gas, but there again, it's just a 400. yours makes 2 of mine.

Here's a few pics from a year or so back when me, Samantha and my buddies went and rode Buffalo Mountain. It was Fun!! Only place I've really been other than riding the trail here at the house.

Sorry for hijacking your post BCO

When I get over this crud and get some time off of work I'll go out and take some pics of the places I ride here at the house. I am fortunate enough to have a huge trail system right here. Some people on here from Ky may have heard of it, Caney Creek. I love riding it but there is a good chance you'll run into some drunk ******** wanting trouble but there is also some good folks that ride it.

Are you riding your front brakes? Any time your going down hill, reguardless the grade. If you hit or bump your rear brakes the quad will try or will kick out on ya. I always use the front brakes going down hill. You got a nice quad. There relieable. I used to ride Windrock and Royal blue all the time. I always tore stuff up when I went to the state line. I have a proublem wanting to run wide open all the time.

Yeah I'm using the front brakes. The motor brake is on the rear and Ive got a lot of momentum going down hill so the motor brake still lets the wheels turn but the turn really slow, the momentum gets me sliding forward. If I was on a hard surface I could creep down but the dirt and mud gives.

Oh I see. It seems like the motor brake could get you in alot of trouble. I've rode some 4x4's but most the time I'm on sport quads. I had a Grizzly 660 4x4. That thing would clime like there was no tomorrow. It ran pretty quick out in the open too. That thing weighted a ton though. I've had several quads in my time. I enjoyed everyone of them. There just like everything else. They all have there strong points. I started racing them and had alot of fun. Todays quads are crazy fast off the show room floor, Sport & 4x4's. They seem to keep getting bigger and bigger.

Buffalo! Well we bear hunt Buffalo mountain. I recognize your pictures! you went around left hand- left hand for the group pic in the middle. We have found a lot of bears up the pipeline too. Bears go up quicker there, not as much mountain as the other areas we hunt and here at the house! But I know Buffalo well!

Yeap, that was Buffalo Mtn. First time Samantha and I had been up there, My 2 buddies on the racing quads had been there several times. We road up to the Fire tower. It is a beautiful view up there.

Speaking of Buffalo Mountain. It's been up in a Big Blaze the last couple of days. Heard on the radio earlier it had burnt over 100 acres so far. I can see the mountain and smoke when I leave work. Hope this rain has helped to put it out.
