For the past year ive had trouble tying a knot with those small flies. You guys have probably already figured out what to do but just in case here goes. I clamped my hemostats on the hook of the fly and then twisted the hemos instead of the fly by hand. It worked great. Just thought I would share.

Yeah I was. It was allmost impossible to twist it by hand.

i would say it was pretty tough. Never really tried it on a small fly like that.

Good Info B-Rad! My eyeballs pop out just trying to see some of those small flies. I couldn't even imagine trying to tie one on.

It took me a couple of years and several lost flies (and tempers) to discover that you can tie a clinch knot pretty easily with your pliers. Just google hemostst and clinch knot and several sites will pop up. After fumbling around with a double nymph rig with size 20+ flies a couple of times in 30 degree weather, I remember why I always look forward to bass season
