From what I have been reading, seems the football head jig is winning a lot of money in the Elite Series. I do not even have one in my boat, but looks like I need a few.

FOr those that fish them, whats your opinion on them? Any better than a regular jig?

I just bought some recently throwed them for a while yesterday it seemed they didn't get hung up near as much. But 1 trip isn't near enough time to decide for sure yet.

Charger, we need to go fishing together this summer of the night. I will personally guarantee you that you WILL have confidence in them then. And NO, you cannot take the shakey head rod either.

Remember, it's a quality fish bait, not necessary a numbers bait. Although depending on the night, numbers could be right up there also.

Green Pumpkin is a good one anytime anywhere. I would have some of thoseif I were you.

i've caught som fish on football jigs on douglas fishing them kinda like a carolina rig.

some of my best fish have been on a jig. definitely my go to bait in summer

I always have atleast 3 jigs rigged up. Arky head for flip'n, 1/4oz., finesse jig, and football head. Football head is great on rock, and smooth points, with rock piles, and isolated brush. The football head will hang easy in heavy brush, if you don't fish it slow.

Charger, you say your not much of a jig fisherman yet you fish shakey heads all the time. Just what do you think a Shakey Head is but a Jig without a skirt and plus a soft bait in place of the skirt. I fish them both the same way.
