I've always been a soft plastic fishermen, and when it comes to hard-baits I have a hard time developing any confidence. So, what are some good colors and good brands/makes to buy for clear water applications. I mostly fish Norris Lake, so if there are any specific colors or makes for there the info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i've had GREAT luck on rootbeer bandits in clear water. also sunny days, try something flashy. but even in real clear water, if its cloudy...don't be afraid to try hot colored baits.

Rootbeer is a good color... so are the red hotlips.

I have done good on Norris on rootbeer also, and on shad color shadraps and black/silver shadraps. on cloudy days if you have a little color in the water fire tiger is good also. just some things I have done good on in the past

Rootbeer has been good for me too. I use rootbeer/chart. when it clouds up. Seems to work pretty good for me. "Bandit"

Some of these it's more about the way you fish them then just chunking and reeling. and type banks and water clarity.



Wind blown banks-Chart. Shad Rap Adjacent to spawning flats . That should help you figure out the rest....

any time, in about 2 weeks I'll start really smallie fishing, the F-n-F never really took off this year( For ME), water didn't get cold enough fast enough. Now it's cold but I can catch them on other things a lot faster then F-n-F. I'll probable go SAT? Wanta go?

I would, but I'm going crappie fishing with JTF on "The Bar". Maybe the next saturday?
