I fished the same tourney as Dale, and yes it was tough. We had a plan and tried to execute it, but the fish didn't cooperate. We started down the lake hoping for a limit, and then move up lake and try for a kicker. We got our kicker up lake but didn't catch our limit down the lake.

We ended up with a total of 11 fish, but only one keeper. It weighed in at 4.6 and was good enough for big fish and second place. As Dale stated, it only took a little over 6 to win. No one had a limit.

All our fish came on cranks. Water temp according to our gauges was 44 down the lake and 48 up the lake. The farther you went up the lake the more stained the water.

Weather was nice starting out. It was 50 degrees when we put the boat in, but the wind got up some, and the temp started dropping. It was 40 when we took the boat out. We fished in the wind most of the day and needless to say, I got cold.

I was thankful to get to fish today.

Congrats Jeff on the second place finish and big fish.
It sounded like it was a tough day on the big indian. Like you, I would have tossed the crank all day in hopes of getting on them. Thanks for posting your results and again, congrats!
