Myself and a couple of friends from work headed to the Clinch below Norris dam today. Fished around the wier dam from 2:30 until 6:00. Caught 35 between the three of us. All caught on salmon eggs and nightcrawlers in the current. Largest was a 21" brown from right at the wier. Several other browns in the 12" range and a couple of rainbows around 11" or so. The rest were smaller. Bite was slow until about 4:00 and it picked up. Guys around us using the fly were not having much luck at all. Beautiful day to be out on the river.

I've had better luck on the Holston with the fly than on the Clinch.......Consistent 14-16" fish there too.

Were you wading or in a boat, or on the bank?

Was they pulling water, if so, do you know how much?

Sorry for all the questions but I don't trout fish much and I would like to take my Daughter down there and let here catch some, being that I only live about 10 minutes from there..

THANKS,

We were wading but there were several people fishing from the bank. They were not pulling any water. No generators were running and you could walk across the wier on both sides of the island. On the NE side of the wier, the water is deeper and alot of people fish from the bank there. You should not have any problems getting her to the water. You can use the link on this site to see when they are pulling water. Hope this helps.........Happy fishing.
