If the question had been ask a bit different I could have entered river. I fish the reservoirs primarily but actually enjoy fishing the rivers more. I understand the movement of the striped bass that are in the lakes & not in the rivers when they get to warm, and the lakes are near home.
While I love to fish anywhere, I was raised fishing the lower Holston and lower French Broad, aka Three Rivers area. Therefore I am more comfortable fishing these areas. But like just about everyone else, I will through a hook in a mud puddle given a chance.
I like to fish period. will fish in a mud puddle if thats all there is (here latley mud puddle has the same amount of bites as anywhere else.) fish count this year none.
I try to follow the seasons. Trout in winter, then crappie, then bass. Cats in the heat of the summer and walleye in the fall.

I fish lakes; mainly NORRIS...which some still call the "dead sea". But I will tell you what....nothing better than wading a river on an early summer morning. The solitude, sights and sounds are breath taking....just to take it all in is so inspiring. The true peace that is fishing can be found on a quiet, scene filled river. Be safe...FNR ><>
Define lake and river. Technically, I tend to fish the Little River, Little Tennessee River, and Tennessee River. It just happens that three of my fishing areas (bank access, baby!) are called Chilhowee Lake, Tellico Lake, and Ft. Loudon Lake, all three of which are dammed reservoirs, whereas actual lakes are different structures. Here's a link with a list: http://web.eecs.utk.edu/~dunigan/landforms/lakes.php
i like to fish ponds for bass since i dont own a boat yet however i do sometimes bum a ride and lie to catch bass more out of the lake seems more fun.but i also like to trout fish rivers or small area or runoffs of the river
Well as I like to wade and flyfish and since I cannot yet walk on water... rivers... oddly I have yet to fish on a lake in TN and have a boat that only gets wet when it rains. LOL
I am addicted to Lake Russell in Ga. I live in Kingsport Tn. I consider Russell my home Lake.
