Default Can you fish Domtar Park?

Hey guys...I'm new to this website, but I've learned a lot reading all the posts on here! I grew up in Colonial Heights, and am coming back to visit this weekend. I love fly fishing for smallmouth. My nephew has a baseball tournament at Domtar Park. Does anyone know if I can fish in the Holston right there at the park? If so, any advice on good spots to fish near there? Any advice on which flies to use? If that's not a good spot for smallmouth, what would be the closest place with public river access? I'll just be wading, no boat.

I think your fine at Domtar park. The only part that is closed, that I know of, is further down past rotherwood around by Holston defence to Silver Lake behind the Food City in church hill. I know they love poppers on that river. I use a popper r with my spin caster. Sorry what little I know is little late.
