Has anyone here heard from any of the anglers from the site like JOE and some of the others? there has been some very severe weather pounding that area all day and major flooding and rain and very high winds on the lake. That lake is dangerous with 5 MPH winds and they had winds today is excess of 70 MPH straight line winds. I have tried to contact a few that I knew where fishing that tournament and I'm worried about all the folks fishing it. Any information would be very appreciated.

Thanks Softy

I didn't go either. My partner had to cancel on me due to work. Thought about going solo until I say the weather report. Saw that it took 36lbs to win.

Joe C didn't make it down due to boat problems. It was probably a blessing in disguise. It did end up taking 36lbs to win and 15lbs to get in the money. Congrats to those who braved the weather and were able to cash a check!

I was out there fishing this tourney with Big Boy and all I can say was I have never fished in as extrweme conditions( I've done offshore angling many times and nothing compared!!!!!!!!). (hard to believe as I was talking with buddies in tri cities and weather was great this weekend to fish Fri/Sat.

It was crazy out there you had 6+foot waves (not kidding) with winds that were blowing 40+ mph (sustained winds)

All week we did pretty well finding the fish, however struggled to find keepers on tourney days (sat/sun) we came in at 135 out of approx 350+ boats.

Ky lake is a great lake really enjoyed it (tuesday-Friday) but for the tournament it was brutal. My hats off to the teams turning in limits.... it was tough!!!

I fished it as well and I agree, I've never fished in such extreme conditions. We found decent fish 2.5-4.5 lbs during the week, but the weather prevented us from getting to our productive areas. We gave up at 1:00 pm on day one and didn't bother on day 2. We didn't give up because we weren't catching any fish, but because of the lightning. I didn't feel safe out there and honestly I can't believe we launched with lightning like that, especially after the meeting where they said, "If there's lightning or tornado watches, you guys won't be fishing." I don't mess with lightning!

The main channel was very wavy, but we did fine in a 19 ft boat just taking our time. I did see a guy in a john boat come across the channel and I thought he was a goner!

I know the director was probably getting it from both sides, some wanted to fish and others didn't. So, I would have hated to be in his shoes.

The lake is awesome! Fish everywhere! We had a great time anyways, met alot of great people, and I will definitely make another trip there.

I FISHED THE CLASSIC AND WE HAD A GREAT PRACTICE WAS CATCHING 50-60 BASS PER DAY, THEN THE STORMS ROLLED IN..I GOT MY GLASSES KNOCKED OFF TWICE FROM LAKES COMING OVER THE FRONT OF MY BOAT, LIKE THEY SAID THERE WAS 6 FOOT WAVES, I REALLY WISHED THE WEATHER HAD HELD OFF I THINK OUR PATTERN WE HAD WOULD HAVE PRODUCED BETTER. BUT ITS A GREAT LAKE WE CAUGHT 200 BASS OVER 4 DAYS HOW CAN YOU COMPLAIN LOL???

That thread pretty much sums it up. I was boat 56 and had 2 hours less to fish than those who drew in the 300s. We left at 1:30 at slept in on day 2. It's a shame after spending all that money to drive down, get a room, prefish, and put gas in the boat. I'm looking at around $800 spent just to fish from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm in the tournament. I really like the divisionals and the regionals because the guys running them do a good job and most the competitors are very friendly people, but I'm not sure I'll return to the Classic if I qualify.
