Went below the powerhouse Tues.afternoon to try for trout. I saw a couple in a long pool going in and out of the shade but could not get them to hit the quill I had on. Not having any nymphs or wet flies I was considering a move when a fish hit in the shade in front of me.I changed to a blue wing olive (with my old eyes and fat fingers is no easy feat) and on the 3rd cast caught a 10" rainbow! My first trout on a fly and on my father's 70 yr old bamboo flyrod! I caught 2 more smaller bows and missed 5 or 6 more. The alarm sounded and I went downriver to a big hole to try for some spots I'd seen the week before. After no hits I made a last cast with my spoon across the pool and got a hit. Thinking it was a small trout I was surprised by a yellow perch, my first! I caught 4 before losing my spoon. I also saw a small 8 and a nice 10 point cross the river below me. A great afternoon on a beautiful river.

That's cool about your dad's rod, made the trip right there. Thanks for the report.
