floated this stretch today, water was a little dingy but not bad. Also was up a little which made the float a lot easier. Caught a lot of smallmouth, one spot, some redeye and sunfish. I was catching most of the fish in the shoals with a pearl grub, they weren't interested in the buzzbait today, i guess i should've got started a little earlier in the morning. Also saw a lot of turtles and almost got crapped on by buzzards that were loafing up in a sycamore tree. biggest fish was probably just under two pounds, heres a couple pics sorry my lens got a puncture and everything is blurry nowadays

Rusty sounds like you had a good day. I've always like the water to have a little color to it. I didnt realize there was a put in @ the wildwood bridge. I've never fished that low before, but the water off the bridge always looked good to me. Thanks for the report.

I think you guy's are talking about different water plants. One plant is at the 411 bridge and the other is on Sam Houston Rd. River Johns is around half way between the two. River John's 1/4 mile upstream from Wildwood Rd. bridge just past the bluff. It usually takes me about 8 hours from Wildwood to Sam Houston take out ramp, which is plenty of time to stop and fish along the way. Has anybody floated recently ? i haven't been down the river since the first of summer.

River Jons to treatment plant takes around 6 hrs for us. That includes taking your time and fishing alot. We floated it about a month ago and caught over 60 smallmouth, redeye, largemouth, and sunfish. If you call ahead Jon will do some shuttle service.
