Default Upcoming float

My son-in-law and I are planning a float of the lower part of the LP next Saturday 7/27. I have never fished this area. I was looking at Google and it appears that in the golf course area (Sanders Islands) that there was at on time three dams. It looks like they have been partially dismantled. Is it safe to take a canoe or kayak through there? Is on crossing better than others? I have had enough excitement with surprises on our local rivers this year, (read my last Little River post). Thank you in advance, I will share a report, if we go.

I have fished all around those broken dams. Very fishy. If you keep scrolling back into past reports for this river you can watch a video of my buddy going over one dam in his solo canoe. Rivers have been flooding so much that there could be new strainers around but those dams have never seemed dangerous to me

Now if the water is high, that's a different story

just keep to the left and you don't have to worry about any big drops.

We went as planned, water was up and muddy, less than one foot visability. Did not check the water temp. but it felt very warm to me. Overcast skys, lower 70's. Three of us did not catch a thing, talked to six others who reported one gar between them! As far as the dams, the first was no issue, the second (splits the island) had a strainer so we didn't try it, The third had a 3-4 foot drop with heavy flow, we portaged. Good time on the water with family.
