We have a small group of guys (6 -8 normally) that take a trip to Canada every year. We try to go a little later in the summer (early August) as a couple of the guys have families and have some other priorities early in the summer. We've fished on Lac Buchette in Quebec the last couple of years - camped - had a great time - caught lots of fish! Unfortunately, with gas prices getting so high, it's becoming a bit tougher to make that long trip, pulling boats and all our food and gear for a week.

So, to my point. I'm looking for options. We like to fish for Pike and Walleye. Wouldn't mind catching some Lake Trout and Smallies if we could. Although we've always "roughed it", that is now becoming part of the reason for our increased costs (having to haul everything all that way). We'd consider an outfitter that would provide boats & cabins, if it would work out.

Any suggestions on locations, outfitters, etc.???

Thanks.

I may be able to help.

Give me a budget per man that you have in mind and a preferred distance to travel to help with narrowing choices. Ontario is a large place with many oppertunities.

Cheers

Thanks for the response...I think we have been around $400 - $450 a man in the past, so if we could stay around there somewhere, I'm sure we'd take a look.

Thanks for the help!

Here's a few places for you to Look at

Decent walleye, pike and small mouth

http://www.lakair.com/

No pike but walleye and both bass species to be caught

http://www.fishingricelake.com/

Boat loads of walleye and pike only resort on the lake, almost like a flyin without the added expense

No problem, just a few of the places I've been to up north.

Although I haven't been there, I hear a lot of good things about Georgian Bay. From what I understand the smallmouth fishery is awesome and not many people target them.

Good Luck in your search!
