met up with the brother in law yesterday morning, but it started off all wrong. he thought we were going to little river so he was waiting for me at our meeting spot in maryville, while i was waiting for him at our meeting spot in seymour. after we fixed the mix up we proceeded up the mountain for what we figured would be alot of work with little reward, but the cabin fever wouldn't have it any other way. we stopped and fished a few spots working our way up the river with intent on ending up in greenbriar as far as we could drive. (the road is washed out and closed at the ranger station) i was using an egg pattern with a pheasant tail dropped off of it, and in the 2 hours i got to fish i had one bite, and missed it. my brother in law tried several different flies to no avail as well. the flooding the watershed had taken with all of the recent rain was easily visible. the river was not real high, but the current was strong so you had to use alot of weight to get your flies deep enough. roll casting was not an easy feat in those conditions... after we stopped at the covered bridge in emerts cove to fish the usually productive run and riffles below it, we decided to head on up into the park.

i jumped in the truck, turn the key and the starter grinds. we cleaned the battery contacts, hammered on the starter, but it just wants to grind some more. luckily i get phone service in emerts cove, and my brother brought me a starter, but the threads were bad and stripped my bolts. we drove back down to sevierville got another starter and found new bolts. when we got back it was getting dark, so i put on the newest starter, and it grinds again... turns out the battery was bad. we jumped it off, i drove to sevierville and bought a new battery as well.

definitely the most expensive local fishing trip i've ever had

ouch, hate to hear all that jazz. yea it seems like ive had all combinations of clicking grinding and not starting due to battery, alternator, and starter. I usally just start with the least expensive thing first i guess
