crawfish color. - East Tennessee Fishing

Hey guy's need some help here, do crawfish change color as the season's change? What color are they in the fall and winter? Thank's for any info..........

No. Different species have different color patterns that they keep throughout the year. There's no major sex-based color differences, although the patterns can be different between young crayfish and older ones. All tend to be somewhat dull prior to each moult, and more colorful afterward.

Color varies more on the different types of crayfish rather than the seasonal changes. I know there are there a are at least 3-4 different species of crayfish on Boone. dark green, dark/light brown seems to be the prodominant colors
