Bigsmallie, I have not been to Reelfoot since 1970, then, it had crappie in the warmer weather & were easy to catch. However, you should be advised that they rented a special boat with a lawnmower engine to push it because the stumps were at water's surface. I was told by the resort owner that even he would NOT even consider putting his bass boat in there. I would suggest you call there before taking your own boat. I always wanted to return & fish it again, but---- dada 1-16-13 9:45 AM

big smallie, i used to live right by thee in the early 2000's.... i have fished it several times.... its a big shallow pond basically but my bass boat had no problems running anywhere i wanted to go...i did good round the flooded timber in the nw section of the lake, but truthfully thats anywhere on the lake.. good luck..But as dada said, the deepest spot i found was 19 feet, lol.

If you ever want Reelfoot info send me a PM, I grew up on the lake and used to guide some for my uncles Duck Hunting clients. I fish an aluminum G3 and would have no issue putting it in there, but I would be idling trimmed all the way up. No reason to run hard, the best areas are within eyeshot of the TWRA ramps.

There is no way in the world I would take your boat on that lake.

I can see this advice, but will add that I grew up on Reelfoot and have never damaged a boat there in the literally hundreds if not thousands of times I have been out on it. I have sheared a few pins but never any serious damage. It would be CRAZY to open it up and run on a plane, but like I said I could hit all my favorite spots and never even crank the outoard.
