My 5 year old (at the time ) , my FIL and myself were fishing South Holston about halfway back in Long Hollow on VA side and my lil man was fishing for bluegill with night crawlers. He catches a bluegill and is reeling it up to the boat and out of nowhere the biggest dang Muskie I have ever seen comes out of nowhere and eats his bluegill. All I could think was this monster was gonna pull my boy overboard lol. So I grab him by the life vest and grab his pole about the same time and lift up on it and nothing there lol it cut the line clean and was gone ! To this day every time we go out on the lake my lil man wants to fish long hollow lol. This thing had to be 40" or better . I have since seen a couple very large dead ones floating out there so I suspect there are quite a few large ones in Soho.

I heard a funny one about a guy that had just had his first musky on the line but the guy guiding him had casted over his line and he didn't realize the fish was even there til he saw it with the lure in its mouth and he missed the hookset. pretty funny.
