Its been years since I fished there, but the Sycamore (sic?) creek up on the left from Lone Mtn dock used to be the place to get crappie. Trolling flys /minnows. When TWRA dropped the limit to FIVE crappie, & there were no more walleye to catch in the river, it didn't make much smarts to fish there & catch only rockfish, which would break off the light crappie line. That was years ago & I heard TWRA raised the limit to TEN, finally on Norris & creeks. That's why I go to Douglas & Melton Hill for the FIFTEEN limits. Keep us posted IF you catch any in the future. dada 1-15-13 9:20 AM

I used to catch them there in the spring, starting around mid March. I haven't fished up there in years though. Good luck if you go!

We got a house boat over there and it isnt to far away so its a nice place to go relax even in cold months, Last year we were fishing catching huge crappie of the house boat and snow on the deck but I can not remember if it was the end of FEB or end on Jan....I may go over tomarrow evening, I will let you guys know when I do go. I have tried calling the dock to get some info but cant reach anyone!

I would say the dock is outside adjusting the anchors. I think it will be almost thick enough to walk on Sycamore especially with the floating trash. The cleanest water that may be fishable will be down around Hickory star and downstream. Give me a call if you come over.
