Morning crappie bite on Ft.Loudon - East Tennessee Fishing

I've really been doing well in the afternoons with crappie with a float and fly. The mornings are terrible. Wondering why?

Funny I have caught almost all my fish between 7am and noon, afternoons have been onsey twosey. Havent been staying till dark though.

Right, went Saturday and was catching them on a bare hook before 8AM. After the sun came out from behind the clouds at 8AM they shut down except for in the well shaded areas. Have had good success the year finding a bunch in the 10-13in. range but the big slabs have eluded me.
