Well..Someone has to be the first to post a TROUT topic..So I guess I know as little as anyone on here...

My favorite way to catch trout is to troll for them. Over the years I have had GOOD LUCK DOING THIS !

My favorite lures are small trolling spoons (cleo, etc) and spinners like the Panther Martin.

I troll in the heat of summer and the blowing snow of winter......It works ANY TIME OF YEAR!

Here are a couple of pictures of trout that me and my friends here from the ETF BOARD have caught while trolling from my boat.......

Pictured above are our very good friends Joe & Shellie (ShellieNJoe). Shellie has her first trout while trolling...Good Job Shellie

Pictured above is my bass tournament partner Bruce (BooneBandit). Bruce's son Blaine caught this beautiful 9 pound rainbow trolling with me and Bruce last fall. Great Fish Blaine

Been trolling for them with limited luck, depends if you can get into them or not. What waters besides the ones way up hill are there that are stocked with trout?

I've trolled the Clinch a few times and had some success with Rapalas. That rainbow is a pig. We caught a 9 lb brown. Fish like that don't come around too often.

Yeah that's a nice rainbow, that brown you caught looked like he was ready to go into a retirement home.

Have you ever tried 00 Dodgers and small trolling flies? Also a good one for us was the Brads Thin Fins particularly the red with black stripes. Those were some go to baits for me when i was fishing up north for trout.

I love to troll for trout !

Just so happens I grew up in Kingsport before moving away to make a living.

I used to fish for trout on the Patrick Henry and South Holston lakes during those years.

Now its the Chilhowee and Calderwood lake for rainbows with a less common and under utilized trolling technique.

Would love to get up that way and try it out on Patrick Henry sometime.
