Default sturgeon

Saw a picture on Facebook a little while ago that I believe is fake but thought I'd ask around. Picture is of several guys holding an 11' sturgeon weighing 1k. Says it was caught out of Cherokee 2 weeks ago then released with the caption under it that says " all sturgeon over 5' in length must be released". That is one of the reasons I believe it to be fake since all sturgeon must be immediately released. Anyone heard of this fish tale?

From what i could dig up, the picture and size of the fish are real.
This fish was caught on the Fraser River, BC Canada, around 2005-2006.
A party with an outfitter by name of Lens Sportfishing Adventures is credited with the catch
